After that 2023 appointment, I made a choice: I refused to spend another dime—or any more of my peace of mind—on a system that offered nothing but bandaids and dismissal. I wasn't just saving money; I was protecting my sanity from the fear of being told "it's all in your head" one more time.
Peeling Back the LayersFor nearly three years, I became my own advocate. I spent every day building a foundation of support that allowed me to function when my physical "hardware" was failing. I was peeling back the layers of my health like an onion, searching for any pocket of peace I could find.
- Micronutrition & Fuel: Magnesium became my best friend. Vitamins, minerals, nootropics, and adaptogens fueled my body throughout the day, allowing my system to do its absolute best to recover during rest and sleep.
- The Emotional Work: I leaned into Reiki, meditation, and journaling. I practiced being present in my body and listening to what it needed—doing the hard inner child work and healing emotional trauma buried deep in the very areas where my health was failing.
- Grounding & Nature: I found peace in nature and used essential oils to calm a nervous system bombarded by electric jolts and hormone surges.
The Lessons in the LayersIn January of 2025, I added Acupuncture to my routine. By the fall, I was incorporating Breathwork and Sound Healing. I have zero regrets about this holistic path. While it didn’t "cure" the Adenomyosis, it brought me healing on levels I didn't know I needed. It gave me peace and rest in a space I couldn't find alone.
More importantly, it was a masterclass in taking care of ME. I learned that self-care isn't selfish—it’s a necessity. It taught me how to set hard boundaries for what I no longer want or need to do.
The BreakthroughAs the layers came off, the physical reality became impossible to ignore. I did my research and spoke with women who had actually found relief until I found a doctor who wouldn't just see a "normal" chart, but would see me.
In January of 2026, I finally walked into that new office. On March 24th, 2026, I had the surgery that changed everything. With the removal of that final layer—a hysterectomy of an Adenomyosis and fibroid-filled uterus—the relief was almost immediate. The weight that had been crushing me from the inside out was finally gone.
